Solar Electric Panels – 10 Solar Energy Facts

By Jim W Carter

It is a fact that energy prices are rising fast and the chances of them ever going back to where they were a few years ago is just about nil. It is a fact that thousands of people worldwide are doing research to find out more about solar electric panels. A solar energy fact, solar energy has become the fastest growing and most popular form of alternative energy. People, like me, are starting to go the extra mile to get more information on using solar power electricity.

Listed are a few of the solar energy facts that I have found that might be of interest to others who are looking for ways to lower their power bill with solar electricity.
1. The first “true” solar panels were created in the 1950s.
2. Today’s solar energy panels are usually warranted for 20-25 years and have a 40 year life expectancy.
3. Solar electric panels have no moving parts so they are quiet and require little maintenance.
4. Solar systems that have batteries to store solar electricity do not have to worry about being in the dark when the electric grid goes down.
5. Sunlight is the only raw material needed to produce solar powered electricity.
6. Sunlight is free to use anywhere in the world and it is an inexhaustible resource, one of the huge solar power advantages.
7. The federal government tax incentive for putting in solar power is 30% of the installed cost.
8. Most states have tax incentives for implementing alternative power sources.
9. After applying federal and state tax incentives most new solar power electricity systems will have paid for themselves with savings in short period.
10. The average homeowner who only uses electricity from the utility grid can expect to spend around $50,000 in the next 25 years on their electric bills.

In the next few years residential solar panels will become even more popular because of advances in technology. With advances in technology will come lower prices for what that knowledge can produce?

There are several good products that have made their way onto the market recently. These products have step-by-step instruction manuals as well as videos and a list of all needed supplies to implement your own home solar power systems.

When you do a little research on solar electric panels it becomes apparent that it is technology that we will need from now on. Solar power electricity is clean, efficient and is becoming more practical every day.

Solar Power Information – Conclusion

I hope you found this article of interest.  You can’t learn too much about solar power.

For some more information see Solar Power Information – The Basics.

Remember as we deplete the earths natural resources (coal, gas and oil), our environment will deteoriate.  The sooner we convert to renewable solar energy, the sooner we can reverse the destruction of the environment our energy demands produce.

So the more solar power information we learn the more informed we will be about a powerful renewable clean energy source.
